The StatCan Proximity Measures Database (PMD) transit score measures how close residents are to public transit stops. The top entries in BC meet the maximum PMD transit proximity threshold — meaning virtually every resident is within range of a stop. Rankings below 1.0 begin to differentiate communities meaningfully.

Note on transit scoring: StatCan's Proximity Measures Database (PMD) scores peak at 1.0 for any community within range of a transit stop. Metro Vancouver's TransLink network and Victoria's BC Transit core both hit the PMD ceiling — the score cannot distinguish between these top communities. This ranking shows BC communities that meet the maximum PMD transit proximity threshold, ordered by NorthScore composite as a secondary tiebreaker. Communities scoring below 1.0 (ranks 10 and below) are where meaningful differentiation begins.
